Where's my backpack in busy Bangkok?!

The lost backpack: A funny story of how my backpack got missing after my 10 hour flight to Bangkok and how it made the way back to me through busy Bangkok while I took a nap.

After a 10 hour flight - where I didn’t get to sleep a single minute - I was so glad when we finally arrived in Bangkok. As we went to get our bags, mine wasn't there.

I realized that someone else has mistaken my bag with theirs and took it with them.

So here I am - in busy Bangkok, without my backpack. What a nice start.

Thank god my friend is travelling with me and is willing to share her underwear with me until I have my backpack back (if it would take longer than expected, of course). That‘s not really how I imagined my travels to start, but well, I guess you can learn something out of every situation - even if it’s not so nice.

„I‘m very surprised that you‘re so calm“, said my friend to me. And I don’t even know how I‘m feeling right now. A small part in me wants to cry, but the other part is telling me that everything will be fine and I will get it back.

After a few hours in the airport - talking with the customer service of my airline and giving them all the information – we made our way to the hotel. To my surprise did they already know about my backpack and managed everything with the airline so that they can deliver the backpack once the person brings it back. After a long nap I got a call from the hotel reception that my backpack is already being delivered. My backpack is now making it‘s way back to me and to this point it has seen more of Bangkok than me. It knocked on the door of the hotel room and a very friendly employee handed me my backpack. YAY!

I really think I was kind of tested in that situation. Maybe the universe was testing me to see, how calm I can stay and to keep trusting, that everything will turn out good. And I really had this inner trust and intuition where you just feel guided.

So, HUGE shoutout to Thai Airways and Royal Bangkok Hotel for managing this while I took a nap. Fantastic service. 10/10.
